BACKLIT LED TV
You have come to this website to find out the comparison between LED
televisions and LCD tv's. I would like to devote this page to the subject of backlit LED
televisions. In a backlit LED tv the light source from the light emitting diodes
comes from the rear of the HDTV screen. This produces the finest picture quality one can currently find in a
television!
The interesting part to me is these backlit HDTVs are
actually LCD televisions with an LED light source. Kind of strange don't you think? Anyways, there are some very
nice backlit LED televisions ranging in size from 40 inches up to 55 inches. The price points on these backlit LED
televisions tend to be in the $1000 to $1800 range. Manufacturers of these televisions include Samsung (model
LN-T4681F) , Vizio (model VF550M) and LG (models 47LG90 and 42LH90).

Many customers get caught up un the 720p vs
1080p thing as well as the refresh rate be it 60 Hz to 240 Hz. The commercials make you think
that if you don't have all these attributes that you will not get a good picture. In my mind that is just
advertising. What having the light source come from the back of the tv does is to drastically improve the contrast
of the picture. I also leads to the saving of electricity since not backlit LED televisions allow for the diodes
not in use to "rest" and there for save energy.
This energy savings to me is one of the greatest selling
points of LED televisions. A typical HDTV costs about $150-$200 a year to operate. If you have several tvs, that
becomes a significant cost!
The choice to buy a backlit LED tv should be an option you should strongly consider in my view. I hope you found
the information helpful!
Have a blessed day!
