LED VS LCD REVIEW
Ther are MAJOR changes coming to the HDTV market in 2010! EVERYTING IS GOING
WIRELESS! It is about time in my opinion. You will have the ability to run everthing through your
wireless network that you have fom your computer. How about wireless NETFLIX? I think it will be really
cool! Imagine wireless speakers, wireless bluray players. All of these are curently available on the
market right now. The makers best prepared for the switch are LG and Samsung.
You have probably come to this page wondering what the differences are between an LED tv and an LCD television
are. Why do LED televisions cost more? In this review, we will compare what the likenesses and the
differences between the two classes of HDTVs are.
DIFFERENCES
The Biggest difference between LED tvs vs an comparable LCD tv is the ECO-FREINDLINESS of the LED tv. You
will find that LED televisions use about 40% less power (about an $80/year savings) and also don't have any
toxic mercury used in the manufacturing process. LED tvs are also very thin and light. About one
half the thickness. Price is always a concern for all of us. In reviewing same sized hdtv's, it is
clear LCD prices are currently better. I do expect the price difference to narrow and they have already in
the past year. Picture quality is better in an LED tv also, especially in the contrast ratio criteria.

LIKENESSES
LED televisions and LCD tvs both offer a superior picture compared to your old CRT. But that you
already knew! You will find both televisions with the same general screen sizes available. Though
there are slightly more options with LCD tvs, especially on the lower screen size end.
REVIEW
In review, the main question you must ask yourself is the current extra cost of an LED tv worth it. Will I
make up the price difference in energy savings? Will LED televisions prices come down further in the near
future, meaning I should wait for a better buy?
