SIDELIT LED TV
A sidelit LED tv is defined as an HDTV where the led light source emanates
from the side of the flat screen. Most of the LCD tvs and the cheaper LED televisions all use sidelit technology.
It is basically driven by cost. The biggest disadvantage to sidelit LEDs and LCD tvs is that the intensity of the
light cannot be varied. The picture can have anon-uniform look to it. The upside is of course the lower
cost.
For example, the Samsung UN46B6000 is a very nice 46
inch, 120 Hz LED tv going for about $1800. It is a very nice sidelit LED tv which is great for most consumers
choice. The Samsung unit has some nice features such as a state of the art computer chip that will optimize the
picture. It just is not top of the line because of the sidelit feature. I will leave the final choice on your
criteria to you.

Sidelit LED televisions do save some power over there LCD
counterparts, just not to the extent that a backlit LED tv would do.
In conclusion, Choosing a sidelit vs a backlit LED tv will make for a fine LED television viewing experience
either way you choose to go! I hope I shed some light in the issue ( I guess that was a bad pun).
Have a blessed day!
